Old Lady – Adopting Grandmother

71 years old Simone is hosting refugees here each weekend. Simone lost her husband in 2015. For the last year Simon has played weekend host to four refugees placed in a nearby town. She also teaches them French. France saw more than 77000 first time asylum applications in 2016. The government temporary places many asylum seekers in towns across France.
A refugees Abbas says, at the start when I came here, it was very difficult for me. But when I found Simone, in fact Simone found me. He is 32 years old and fled Iraq in 2015. With Abbas things are natural. There is a great respect between us. I often talk to him about his decisions, he asks me sometimes if I think he is doing the right thing. They feel lonely, so I try to recreate a family around me because my children are far away and I don’t see them often, so we live a family life here on the weekends.
I found it sad that this sweet old lady has to welcome strangers in her house because her own kids and grand kids don’t want to come that often. This is painful but true and reality. There are a lot of old folks who are lonely because their family is too busy to come for a visit, because they chase money in the big city.

Those who help others are only they know the wonderful joy they get in doing that. They benefit more than the beneficiaries.  It is important to show peaceful refugee stories which are necessary to promote peace.  It is sure that God will provide for her abundance and blessing. Believing in people is so difficult on this crazy time on the world, believe is a gift and read a story of goodness in the midst of so much bad news gives me faith. - Keep praying
